Using Sport as a

Foundation LJYO is a charitable organisation committed to empowering young people through sport, mentorship, and international engagement. Our mission is to create opportunities that develop confidence, discipline, and global awareness while supporting disadvantaged communities.

Our founding international initiative brings together 24 selected young athletes from the UK for a structured basketball competition and community engagement programme in St Lucia — an experience that transforms lives and builds lasting partnerships across the Atlantic.

What We're
Delivering

01 — Selection
Participant Selection & Training
Rigorous selection of 24 young athletes in the UK, followed by structured training and preparation sessions before departure.

Pre-Departure Workshops
Team building, cultural awareness, and safeguarding preparation to ensure young people are ready for international engagement.
03 — Travel
International Travel
Group travel from the UK to St Lucia with 14 trained adult mentors, coaches, and safeguarding staff.
04 — Competition
Youth Basketball Competition
Structured competitive play in St Lucia, promoting teamwork, leadership, discipline, and athletic growth.
05 — Outreach
Community Outreach
Visits to local schools, community groups, and organisations supporting blind and visually impaired individuals in St Lucia.
06 — Evaluation
Post-Project Evaluation
Comprehensive reporting, outcome measurement, and documentation to guide future programme expansion.
